have you heard this one?
A man asked God: "So God, to You a million years is just like a day yeh?"God replied: "yes"
So the man asked: "So to You a few million dollars is just like a dollar right?"
God said: "Yeh probably"
So the man asked: "So can You give me a dollar?"
God said: "Of course! Just wait a few minutes!"
This story is funny - at least it made me smile. but at the same time, it has some elements of truth in it. We have to learn to see things in God's eyes. What appears to be a long wait is a short one in God's term. What appears to be horribly UNFAIR or PAINFUL might be so small in the big picture - which only God can see. So who do you trust? Trust God who is in charge of all, who is the creator of all, who knows it all~ he knows when to give you a dollar, or a million. Just in His Time...

Thus.. stress is pointless, right Tiff ? ;)
We all know what we SHOULD do (eg not to worry about things) but it's hard to do it. From knowing it in the head to beliving it in the heart to acting it out ---- long, difficult process...
But I wouldn't say STRESS is pointless. It plays a role in a lot of things. It helps to shape you. Stress is a biological response to fight bacteria, for example. Adrenaline rises when you're under attack of a dinosaur.. and it helps you to fight or RUN.
And I also know when ur under stress, ur more prone to diseases and stuff. I guess it's the PROCESS of dealing with stress that matters. God's shaping me right this stressful moment, showing me that I can cast all my trouble to Him.
ARGH, dunno what i'm on about anymore. *STRESSED* gotta study now~
Cat - I can't believe u mentioned the same thing at cell tonight!!! when we talked about patience. I was SO going to expand your points. (U only mentioned the first two statements, not the statement about "wait a few minutes"!) But then i was being too disruptive tonight.. decided to shush...
^_^
So Tiff... what you're saying is my instinct of 'stress' is there to save me from things like dinosaur attacks?
Fascinating. =)
I love the stress response. Our lecturer Nola in first year explained to us why we sweat -- "it makes us harder to catch" -- and I always have this image of that Prehistorik Man computer game when I remember her saying that; the little skin-clothed man running from the big green dinosaur..!
Tiff!!! Thought u were studying... hehe and now you're commenting hahaha....
Anyway tis a very deep quote that one... i haven't heard it b4...
And Tiff, plz dun over-stress ^_^
Stress is good, too much of it isn't. bit like pain... u need to be able to feel pain to know what's not right. For example, how would you (or your body) be able to instinctively react if you try to touch a hot iron? Pain is there for good reasons, and it's beneficial too in some respect. But yes, too much of it is not good.
Thanks Tiff, very deep blog here!
Sam.
