The dog We Should've Bought!

We bought a standard schnauzer, with the influence of our German neighbour who has 2 gentle dogs.

Monty is not gentle and is very high maintenance. Definitely ADHD and is very hairy.

So we met Pepper, Steph's miniature schnauzer - the dog we should've bought. One that we can carry around, one that is not too strong, one that doesn't drag us across the road, one that won't jump or bite, one that can sit on our lap...

And Monty who is still ever so cute and mischievous :)

House warming

It was a very hot day, thank God for one in wall air con, standard air con and evaporative cooling!! We were able to accommodate totol 25 people in our humble house. (What's with surprise guests? Due to some communication error, we didn't expect the extra 2 people. For future reference, it's uncool. If they had at least given me one hour warning, I'd be very happy. At least I know to order another pizza rather than feeling "condemned" that I wasn't able to accommodate all those 25 people's stomachs.)

Anyway it was a house warming on a very warm day. I hope people were satisfied with the hospitality we provided. I'm not sure. I hate food going to waste so I only made the exact amount for the number of peole I EXPECTED. For example, 23 prawns were pretty exact. 20 rice paper rolls (assumping my husband & I weren't eating and there was one vegetarian.)

Now I understand why those "dinner party competitions" can be so stressful. Things do go wrong. Recipes didn't go right and I have to improvise. Didn't have time to do my eyeliners and lippy.

I think I'm exaggerating. It was a great afternoon. My cousins are forever getting taller and tanner. They are still silly but I love them.

As Albert pointed out, that was a very rare gathering when all the aunts sit together in the couch. (see photo)

Thanks for being the kind guests you were. Everyone gave me red packets. (That's probably the last time we will get red packets until we have a child.)

New Year 2013

Hello 2013!

I'm not going to do the 'must-do' resolutions. I would just like to say that this year will also pass by quickly, I just know it. I better make the most of it everyday and make sure I include Lord in my life daily. Life is great as long as I have Him and him that I see everyday :)

Stay Cool this hot summer.

I pray that there will be no more bushfires in our country this summer.

Happy New Year to you all! (or "none" who is reading)

I passed!

I thought I would update this given I have now again passed an exam that I thought I have failed.

Praise to the Lord ~~~ Why else would I be able to pass it?

It feels great to have done my last GP fellowship exam. So many people of my age have completed their last exam like 5-6 years ago! I feel so delayed. But then again, a few of my friends are still sitting their exams. Here, I'd like to send them my best wishes.

No one reads this blog anyway. Should I make it more public?
