Dad's back with my Hidamari no Tami

Dad and grandma arrived safely today! yay!

And they brought back lots of stuff. My favourites being Hidamari no Tami and 2 very good badminton racquets and a piano score book (for HK pop songs)!!

Don't freak out!
I didn't *ASK* my dad to buy that many!
I only wanted 2! one for myself and one for a friend.
The rest belong to my little cousins.
guess we'll give the 'toys' to them tonight when they all come to visit!

Gonna be a great night!
Big family gathering~

This is MINE:

I must say the ones on ebay look better. SKY's one looks cuter! with the flower in hands... aww... anyway it's okay. I'm content with mine. the hands, head and body all move! keke... I've put them all under the sun to absorb more solar power for their daily *performance*. kekeke

Rachel's Tears

Rachel is a Columbine shooting victim. I've gone through half the book today. I got so sucked into it. Will write about it later --- when I'm done with the book...

So saddening yet there's hope.
Many readers must've been inspired by the life that Rachel lived. Her boldness, her closenss with God, her sweetness, her innocence, her honesty in her journal writing to God...

The book has relit my fire for God. I desire a closer r/ship with God like Rachel has always desired.

Carry the torch...

Thanks Rachel for the memories you left behind. You have made a difference to this world.

Arm Wrestling

What a night at Warrandyte!!

We had a coach group meeting tonight and played random games. Eg charades, random games, guessing games, trivial questions etc etc...

Kat and I had to arm-wrestle one another. 1st go - a DRAW! 2nd go - LEFT HAND - we had to lie flat on the floor to prevent using our body weight (not that I weigh much according to simon) - a DRAW! I bet you I'm going to get sore arms tmrw morning. EEEik......... How embarrassing - Mel took pics of me...

the rest of the night was just random games... All for Fun! great~ ha ha~~

Bianca - my dear...

Yip, I finally met Ken's girl. Bianca is her name. Not a very polite dog. She bites. Afterall, she's still a puppy. IT's a Belgian Shepherd - very smart and aggressive. So yeh hopefully with some handy dog training tips from the expert, Alison, she'll be Good... She's cute though. I love holding her coz I never had much of a chance to do that to Prince... Prince is 50 kg, ok?

Thats me, Bianca and Ken. (Bianca's the dog. ken's not the dog)

Notice how Irene is hiding behind me. She's dog-phobic... wat to say...

Dora, me and the love puppy. hehe...

LE Photos!

Here are all my favourite photos: (more on multiply/msn my space)

Yip: the guys tried to block us whilst we were sleeping.. HA HA HA.. Maturity

I'm back!

REFRESHED! Yay!! Back to civilisation! Could you believe we couldn't even find Maccas at Healsville and lake eildon... No reception at the house... @_@ Completely isolated for 4 days... So what haf I done?

At the house:
* karaoke
* pool
* fussball
* random games: murder in the dark, charades, psychiatrist, bing bang wah (some canto games), OMG (i won't go into that...)
* sleep
* cook
* movie (how to lose a guy in 10 days)
* D&M

Outside the house:
* go to the town to make phone calls or send sms'es
* buy pizzas
* Visit the lake - a lot of it has dried up
* a bit of bush walk - on the path where it was meant to be lake
* Healsville Maze (& mini golf)

Basically it was just lots of fun. relaxing~ nothing much happened except:
1) kev's car started to make some noise - so the CLEVER guys changed the tyre - didn't help - then some guy found out it was just some rubber rubbing on the tyre
2) I bang my head *lightly* on the rear mirror at HC's car - so it fell off - CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? I didn't know how hard my head was! yip dun worry, we bought some super glue.
3) The random guys thought they were funny and played a prank on us. Blocked our door with gladwrap and sofa. HA HA HA... SIF we can't push our way through? so the sofa landed on ken.. haha....

No More Exams till end of 2006!!

Yup, my official non-exam period of life has commenced!!!

Let's forget about the exams now. Don't worry. I'm still in med. I passed it, I think. thats all that matter for now....

Going away tuesday to thursday for a little retreat with med frds~ should be AWESOME! Hope for a safe journey!

And yeh, no more exams in the next 12 months at least because it's a research year.

Anyway today, we didn't end up going to the 3rd year party. WE had our own gathering - which is equally nice~ if not better! I got home really early. Everyone else still at Wan's house as I type. I just want mum to be happy. I'll try not to go out too much before Dad comes back... Be a goodie goodie daughter... ^_^

So much to do So much to do!! Shopping shopping shopping. Clearance sales, yeh? Hor Hor Hor...
Most importantly, I need to spend more quality time with God. >< I haven't been very good lately. I must get back to Him. He's been there the whole time while I was stressing out. He's there now that I've finished. And He'll forever be there - no matter what. How AMAZING is His love! What Have I Done to deserve this unconditional love?

3 down 1 to go...

Answer revealed: Respiratory

TODAY..... >_<
Wada? Peak Expiratory Flow Rate? I thought all you had to do is to blow it... Didn't ask the patient to repeat... Though i asked him to remove his fingers away from the knob thing... but STILL - I'm still in a horrified stage. AND i forgot to do the 99 thing on the BACK! I'm going to be a terrible doctor, aren't I? Ok ok... I won't... I'm still TRAINING... AND the computer station - wada? Sif answer a 15 mark question in 1 minute... WHY? Anyway, my residual love for HP is completely gone... (Though I thought I went well with the interview. I DID get a nice-ish patient. THANK GOD!)

TOMORROW......
Well thats the big one... Thats the 3 hour long one. Let's erase my horrifying memory of HP and move on... Hopefully I haven't yet burnt out...

Party tomorrow - should we go? ... $30 for unlimited alcohol, finger food and DJ music... but in a hall?... Hm... dunno yet...

2 down 2 to go...

What a load of Crap? I told you HP is random. studying didn't help with my performance, I have to say. What am I complaining? I didn't have much time to study yesterday anyway. So didn't waste much time. ^_^ Overall, I just wrote crap. LOTS of bullpoo... Could've just written the word C R A P on the paper... ANYWAY - moving on...

What's on the menu tomorrow? Interviewing a patient + Physical examination.
What could the physical exam be?
- eye
- ear
- hip
- knee
- mini-mental test (to test if you've got dementia)
- Neurological test
- abdominal
- Respiratory
- Cardio-
- breast exam

What will it be? To be revealed tmrw...

Just hope my patient is nice and kind to me... I heard of some HORRIBLE ones... >< But then that's life. I'm going to see a whole range of patients when i start practising. Better get used to some 'horrible' ones...

1 Down, 3 To Go

Can you believe the tram stopped in the middle? The Driver just left and then came back with more drivers... @_@ STILL NOT MOVING!! We got frustrated so we got off and walked! Anyway i made it to Wilson Hall 5 minutes before reading time. WooHoo~~~ By God's Grace...

Melbourne Public Transport REALLY REALLY SUX... Yesterday - Connex went on a strike - as was shown on TV, Glen Waverley line is always delayed/cancelled...

________________________________________

Dunno about you... but i'm not the kinda person who likes to discuss the exam paper after the exam.

but I haf the tendency to wake up - realising I made some silly mistakes...

Hope this is not going to happen... We'll see tomorrow!

Yip. I Just feel relieved that 1/4 of the exams is over...^_^

Each day is getting better.

I can almost smell Holiday ~~

Now I have to study !$@#@!#@#! Health Practise exam... It's usually a joke. Let's hope it is this time. So what do we need to know?
1) Coping with cancer
2) social inequalities cause health problems
3) Let the patient make his/her decision (eg treatment withdrawal)
4) HIV is not curable yet
5) Bio-Psycho-Social model of medicine
6) don't run away when the patient cries
...

basically you just need to be able to write 3 pages of answer for one 20-min question.... The key to success: Use keywords + Blab on + Sound Passionate

The Place To Be... (not)

More photos from my Dad's Europe trip....

SIF! It's Royal Exhibition Building~~~~
This is where I'm going to have exams!!! (2 of them anyway)
What a waste! Such a fine building for exams.....................
For those who don't know, Med ball was held there last year.
(I didn't go.)

Hey Med people! Can you spot yourselves??? ^_^ ^_^

PUT AWAY CHEAT NOTES!!!!!

Mobile carriers & sterility risk....

Those of you who do med... Well I was studying radiation, cancer and stuff... I've come across one PBL group that says "mobile carriers and sterility - proven link". I was quite distraught. Is it really proven? How high is the correlation anyway? Perhaps that's why SOME PEOPLE never use their mobile and prefer radiation-free MSN or even SKYPE (www.skype.com) instead... Do you know who I'm talking about? Never mind. =)

I bought one!

Yes I bought one~ My aunt in Hk bought it for me. $70 HK dollars. around $12Aus. So happy now~ Apparently the whole body moves! I guess those moving-head ones no longer exist in HK... So yeh with a bit of patience, I got one - for cheaper for better too!

have you heard this one?

A man asked God: "So God, to You a million years is just like a day yeh?"
God replied: "yes"
So the man asked: "So to You a few million dollars is just like a dollar right?"
God said: "Yeh probably"
So the man asked: "So can You give me a dollar?"
God said: "Of course! Just wait a few minutes!"

This story is funny - at least it made me smile. but at the same time, it has some elements of truth in it. We have to learn to see things in God's eyes. What appears to be a long wait is a short one in God's term. What appears to be horribly UNFAIR or PAINFUL might be so small in the big picture - which only God can see. So who do you trust? Trust God who is in charge of all, who is the creator of all, who knows it all~ he knows when to give you a dollar, or a million. Just in His Time...
