failing...
I think I have failed my exam. I haven't got the results but I knew I did terribly!
I can't help but think how would I have passed a Physician Exam! All my physician friends passed and I think a lot of it is down to hard work. *I bow down* to you all.
Perhaps I have under estimated the difficulties of the GP exam. To be honest, I didn't prepare hard enough. My study group fell apart so I just did my own studying. I wasn't detailed in my studies! I kinda know a little bit about most topics - and that proved to be insufficient to pass the short answer exam.
There's nothing I can do now. It's been done a month ago. Perhaps the examiner has marked it already and given me the F word.
I could pray but do I deserve to pass? Do you think God would want to 'change' my F to a P? I'm not sure. Divine intervention? is that appropriate in this setting?
For example, if you bought greasy, bad food for dinner and you said a prayer - would it make sense to ask God to nourish your body with such bad food? Is it appropriate to ask God to remove the mistake we've made?
I'm not sure but praying is all I've got left.
I've never failed anything before. *nerves*
Filling my days with...
These days, life is filled with a bit of work, life group, church, eating out with friends and families, managing the house work.
Is that all to life?
What a cliche question! I fill my life with all these acitvities, do I get my priorities right?
Is that what God expects from me? I think not. I never think that God is happy with me. Why should He? I am so lazy, unChristian-disciplined, greedy, envious etc etc... I never get it right!!
Even though I only work 30 hrs a week, where does the time go? HOLD MYSELF TOGETHER and do some productive things!
Dinner...
I invited a few people over for dinner last night. It was the first time I prepared a sit down dinner for friends. A bit nervous :) I like having friends over and better still, if they like my food.
My first time making curry puffs - aren't as hard as I thought but it does take time. Thanks to Sammi's tips - for the Korean Soy paste sauce. Made a green curry. salt and pepper prawns. OH and I used my new Brevilles Mixer to make tiramisu.
Albert made delicious Cha Siew.
The not so straight forward mothers...
My mother and I were talking to the neighbour who is Turkish in her 80s. She lives alone. A very cheerful lady indeed.
She mentioned that she has sons who don't understand women. She wished that they would take her out, to have coffee, to the shop. However in her words, "i'm not the kind of person to ask my sons to take me out". In other words, she'd rather keep it to herself and wished for something she will never verbalise. She doesn't want to ask the daughter in law either.
So I translated that to my mother, who later said she totally agreed. My mother is one who is sensitive and wants to be pampered but doesn't want to ask. She bluntly pointed to the fact that I don't proactively ask her out. (not just after I got married, but going back a long time)
Indireclty, she compared me to her friend's 'wonderful' son who loves to listen and loves to have coffee.
I think it's a two-way thing. A relationship has got to be two-way. I don't recall my mum ever take me out on a special date / trip to have mother-daughter time. (shopping excluded)
I will again, try a bit harder. WOMEN... they're a difficult species, at least some are. JUST SAY WHAT YOU WANT! What's the fun of letting people guess for 20 years and then feel bitter about it.
If I were a mother...
Sad event?
Albert found out his grandfather passed away on Friday and he's gone back to attend the funeral.
I don't know much about his grandfather. I've met him once - he has quite bad dementia. I remember taking a photo with him and the whole family. I don't think he recalls Albert's name - most of the time. Over the past years, he has deteriorated.
So I asked Albert what kind of person is he?
... no spectagular & highly regarded comments but Albert's fondest memories would be 1) granddad making megoreng and said it's good for him 2) Kapi-O (Malaysian version of expresso) - he makes it very very strong but very very sweet.
I hope to take Albert to have a decent Kapi-O some day...
I hope he's up there with our Lord and Saviour right now, making coffee and noodles. Rest in Peace, Grandpa-in-Law.
